It’s been a while since I’ve published my blogs on a super regular basis, but that will change in the coming weeks. I’m inspired to share more often. A recent sabbatical, which I’m emerging from, surfaced insights that I’m just starting to make sense of and put words to.
In the meantime, I want to share a few past essays I wrote on topics that I keep coming back to in my own life. They still hit the mark for me, and I think they may resonate with you:
Think Less, Do Better: The Power of a Clear Mind
I know, the title sounds corny! Turns out, though, it’s accurate: a calm and clear mind can help you unleash your full potential. This is among the most viewed posts on my blog, and for good reason.
Beyond Victim and Victor: A Third Way to Meet Work-Life
Is life happening to you, for you, or through you? This post was inspired by my pondering about who/what is really “in charge” of life plus a canoe outing with my son. In it, I share three ways of relating to life, and the trap found in each.
The Friendly-Universe Hypothesis
Is the universe friendly, hostile or indifferent? This one is all about why I believe that people who act as-if the universe is friendly; learn faster, handle uncertainty better and generally outperform those who consider it anything but friendly. Bold assertion, I know.
Ease Over Effort: Rethinking Productivity in an Age of Overwork
This is the true story of a coaching client who defied the odds and found greater ease and higher performance, in the midst of a super intense engineering job that he was ready to quit. It’s about why the modern “no pain, no gain” philosophy of overwork is worth questioning.
Beyond Confusion: A Better Way to Know What to Do
Pretty much every client I’ve ever worked with is facing what they consider a big decision (usually several). In this blog I explore how to tell intuition from a noisy mind, and five practical ways to build it up like any other skill.
